Glutathione Whitening Aftercare: First Week Do's and Don'ts
By Viora MedSpa | October 26, 2026
Koreatown (Wilshire Center/Koreatown area), Los Angeles, CA
Right after your Glutathione Whitening appointment, the most important rule is simple: protect the injection or IV site and keep your day calm for 24 to 48 hours. Hydrate well, skip alcohol, avoid saunas and hot baths, and hold off on intense workouts so you don’t turn a small poke into avoidable bruising or irritation. We’re in Los Angeles, which means sun is basically a year-round factor, so sunscreen starts right away too. And if something feels off, don’t wait it out. Reach out and we’ll guide you.
First 24 to 48 hours after a glutathione injection or IV: keep it clean, cool, and low-key
Our Glutathione Whitening service is a 30-minute visit. After that, your job is mostly to avoid stirring up the area and stressing your system. Most people feel fine, but the first day is where small choices make the biggest difference in how you look and feel.
Quick rules for the first 48 hours: Drink plenty of water, keep the IV/injection site clean, avoid rubbing it, skip alcohol, and avoid heat or heavy sweating (sauna, hot yoga, hot baths, hard cardio).
Do this on day 0
- Leave the bandage on as directed and keep the area dry and clean for the rest of the day.
- Hydrate. If you’re doing an l glutathione IV or any glutathione intravenous session, water helps you feel your best afterward.
- If you notice mild soreness or a small bruise, that’s common. Avoid poking at it and let it settle.
Avoid these for 24 to 48 hours
- Alcohol. It tends to increase flushing and can make bruising more noticeable.
- Heat and heavy sweating like saunas, hot tubs, steam rooms, and hot yoga. Heat can aggravate tenderness and irritation around the site.
- High-intensity workouts and heavy lifting. Keep movement gentle if you want to move at all.
In Koreatown, a lot of people book us as an after-work stop near the Wilshire/Western Metro and then head into a full evening. You can absolutely keep your plans. Just give yourself that 24 to 48-hour buffer before big nightlife, long travel days, or anything that involves heat, alcohol, or lots of sweating.
Your first week in Los Angeles sun: protect the glow and don’t “stack” aggressive treatments
Think of week one as protection mode. You’re letting your skin and your body settle, and you’re protecting the bright, even-toned look you’re working toward. Los Angeles has year-round UV, plus dry fall days in October that can sneak up on you, so hydration and sunscreen matter more than people expect.
Keep doing this all week
- Wear broad-spectrum SPF 30+ daily. Reapply if you’re outside for extended periods.
- Stay consistent with gentle cleansing and moisturizing. Dry, irritated skin never looks brighter.
- Drink water consistently. If you tend to forget, set reminders for the first couple of days.
Avoid these for the first week
- Harsh exfoliation, aggressive scrubs, and picking at dry patches.
- Strong at-home “actives” if your skin is feeling sensitive (things like retinoids or strong acid exfoliants). If you already use them, pause a few days and restart slowly.
- Stacking intense aesthetic treatments too close together. If you’re planning CO2 laser, a peel, or other higher-intensity services, talk with us first so we can space things safely.
Simple skincare that supports Glutathione Whitening results (no fancy routine needed)
You don’t need a complicated lineup after an l glutathione injection or glutathione intravenous session. You need a calm routine you’ll actually follow, especially if you’re bouncing between Koreatown, DTLA, Hollywood, and Mid-City during the week.
Our go-to aftercare routine by product type
- Cleanser: Gentle, non-stripping. If your skin feels tight after washing, it’s too harsh.
- Moisturizer: A straightforward barrier-supporting cream or lotion. Consistency beats complexity.
- Sunscreen: Broad-spectrum SPF 30+ every morning. This is the non-negotiable in Los Angeles.
- Makeup: Fine for most people the next day, as long as the injection/IV area isn’t irritated and you’re not rubbing at it.
If you’re also doing other services with us, we’ll help you space everything so your skin has time to recover. That spacing is where results tend to look their most natural.
Injection or IV site care that prevents the “why is this bruised?” moment
A small bruise or mild soreness can happen with any IV or injection. What helps most is leaving it alone and keeping things clean. Rubbing the area, applying a lot of pressure, or doing a sweaty workout too soon is usually what turns “barely noticeable” into “visible for a week.”
- Keep the site clean and avoid scratching or massaging it.
- Wear loose sleeves if friction bothers you.
- If you’re tender, a cool compress can feel good. Keep it gentle and short, and don’t put ice directly on skin.
- If you notice bruising, give it time. Cover-up the next day is usually fine as long as you’re not irritating the area.

Reach out right away if you have fever, severe pain, spreading redness, warmth that’s getting worse, significant swelling, or any symptom that feels like it’s escalating instead of settling.
